Do You?

Do you think God cares who wins the Super Bowl? Does he let the team with the least heathens come out victorious?

Do you not realize that my last post was out of this world brilliant? Why only 11 comments in 2 days?

Do you think that "Do you" is one of the most overused phrases now a days?

Do you ever have moments when life is beating you up, then you go to church and get inspired and then everything is alright?

Do you ever have moments when life is beating you up, then you go to church and get inspired and then everything is alright, and then you forget those blessings and wind up back in the same place?

Do you worry about gas prices or do you just get the gas cuz you know you need it anyway?

Do you allow other people to change your mind for you even after you made it up?

Do you know that African chicks dig me for some reason?

Do you cringe when you hear people talking ignorantly. For example, if someone continuously says up most, instead of utmost do you say anything or just let it ride.

Do you think its weird that I only eat once, maybe twice a day?

Do you got $5 i can hold?

Do you realize I have to wake up at 8, so I'm gonna stop writing random "do you" questions now and go to sleep?

So I Was Wondering... (edited to add my answers)

15 questions about blogging. Feel free to answer some or all of these in the comments. If you wanna name names, its cool. You can even do it anonymously. I should warn you though, that I'm extremely nosy, so I will attempt to match up anon comments with my site meter. I don't wanna do it, but I have a compulsion to do so. LOL Don't worry, I wont tell nobody what I find out.

1. How did you find my blog? Most of you I found from Jameil or Diva.. Some of the people that I've been reading probably come from Tam... if you wanna know about you specifically let me know in the comments

2. How many blogs do you read a day? On a regular day 10, on a catch up day, probably like 20.

3. Do you get mad when people don't comment on your blog daily? nah, I go back and forth on this one though. Sometimes I'm a comment whore, but right now I'm not. I reserve the right to change my mind at any time.

4. Do you need a certain number of comments before you move on to the next post? Nope. I used to have to hit 15 or i would feel the post was wasted. That was on the old blog.

5. Whose blog is the first one you read each day? Jameil, then Diva

6. What are some of your blog pet peeves? Way too many to list. Some are wack poetry, music players that you cant turn off, people that don't post often enough. I could keep going, but I'll stop now

7. Who is the funniest blogger that you read? Magnolia Peach is hilarious..She should post more. Do you feel guilty now? LOL

8. Who has the funniest comments? I'm a go old school with this one. She don't post no more...but I Like Liquor and TV was the most hilarious commenter ever. I wonder where she is now...

9. Without naming names, is there a blog that you read because you feel like you are obligated to, but don't really want to read? Yep, I wont say anything else about that one. LOL

10. Are there any blogs that you lurk on? If so, why don't you comment? I am a lurker to start with. The conditions have to be just right before I'll comment. Like for instance, she probably don't know this, but I used to lurk on Monie's page. I can't remember why I never said anything until she commented here first.

11. You got a blog crush? I don't get those. I'm immune. Instead I'd rather have a real life crush. I got to at least talk to you before that develops.

12. You got a blog beef? Not really, although there are plenty of people that don't like me and the feeling is mutual. No active beef though. I'm very civil with mine. You ignore me, and I'll ignore you.

13. You got a blogger that you wish would stop posting and disappear from the blog world forever (forever ever? forever ever?) - One down, 2 to go...LOL

14. How do you feel about anonymous commenters? I like them as long as I know who they are. Part of the reason I got haloscan so they can still comment even if they have no blog.

15. You tired of me asking questions? Nope, I can get inquisitive all night long. Ask anyone that's ever talked to me. I'm good for getting info out of people without having to share any of my info. LOL

I'll answer some of these later..

The Questions...Part 2

Let's get part 2 of the questions started. Scroll down for part one if you haven't read it yet.

Ladynay asked...

What side of the bed do you sleep on?

I'm sleeping on the couch now a days, but when I do sleep in a bed, I don't really have a side I have to sleep on. Whatever side gives me the best view of the TV is where I will be. Mostly because I have to fall asleep with the TV on to avoid thinking too much. When I do that, there's no hope at all for sleeping.

How many times have you been in love?

I honestly don't know the answer to this one. I know one for sure. Then there are a couple of other ones where I thought I was, but may not have been because I turned the love faucet off mad quickly.

When is your birthday (shoot me if you mention it alot)

November 25th, 1974. Sagittarius. Currently accepting tardy presents from last year and early presents from this year. Give me some gifts, yo!

Who do you consider your best friend and why?

Kristie is my bestest friend. I think its a consistency thing. No matter who comes and goes from my life, she's been there for the last 7, 8 years. Plus, she cooks for me and lets me have my way with her female friends. LOL I'm (half) kidding.

Where would you rather be right now?

I'd like to be somewhere where it's 70 degrees with a light breeze. I got nothing to do except sit outside and enjoy the weather. No particular destination though.

If you could slap one musician or group for making some TRASH in your opinion, who or what group would it be?

The music snob in me can't pick just one. I'd like to slap a gang of music industry cats. If I had to pick one, it would be T. Pain. Here's the logic behind it... I know T. Pain sucks. I know his music is bad, so please explain to me how them songs stay stuck in my head. I'd slap him for making horrible music so palatable.

Do you have a favorite group of all time?

Does Prince and the Revolution count as a group, if so I'll pick them. Other than that, A Tribe Called Quest, GangStarr, Jodeci are some of the many. I realize I didn't technically answer the question, but you get the point.

Have you blogged about the most out there chick you've been with?

Sure did. That would be Veronica the stalker. The one that is soon to be having twins, but is still trying to get at me on MySpace ten years after we broke up. The one that told people that I was the father of her kids, the one that brewed marijuana in my sweet tea to get me high so I wouldn't leave. The one that took a picture of me from when I was 4 and blew it up and had it hanging on her wall. The one that said she was gonna kill herself if I left. The one that tried to put roots on me. The one that... I wrote about it here. LOL

What's your favorite sweet?

I don't really do sweets too much, but I love brownies. Unfortunately, they don't love me back. Anything with caffeine in it, like chocolate, I have to be careful about. Caffeine is my migraine trigger. If I have too much, or on some days, even if I have just a little then I'll get a monster sized headache. Other than that, I love Milkshakes and banana pudding.

If the future Mrs. Jamal could fix you your favorite meal what would it be?

Her.. I mean, I pretty much eat anything except cantaloupe and sushi. I'm far from being particular about my meals. For the sake of the answer, I'll go with a breakfast feast. Pancakes, grits, bacon, eggs, all of that. I love breakfast foods, but I never eat it in the morning. I did a tag about my favorite foods once. Like to read it? Here it go!

If you could go anywhere, money not an option, where would it be and if anyone, who would you take?

Let’s go to sleep in Paris,
And wake up in Tokyo.
Have a dream in New Orleans,
Fall in love in Chicago,
Mayne.

Then we can land in the motherland,
Camelback across the desert sand.
Take a train, to Rome, or home,
Brasil, forreal.
Wherever I go she goes.
Wherever I go she goes.

Lupe Fiasco - "Paris Tokyo"

If you had one superhero ability what would it be?

I'd want to be invisible. After my trip to the women's locker room, LOL, I could sneak up on people and do jerky stuff like knock the hat off their head, or tie their shoelaces together, or steal their ATM pin code. LOL. What I meant to say was "I'd like to use my invisibility to help bring about world peace."

Favorite movie of all time?

Pulp Fiction... no, Fight Club.. no Pulp Fiction!

Do you need more questions, cuz I can go on?

Thank you for hooking me up. I think I'll be okay. LOL

Minerva asked...

Have you dated/slept with a woman significantly older?

I have not dated/slept with anyone older than me. It just hasn't worked out that way. Lisa was about 7 months younger. PHD might have been a year younger. Other than that, everybody has been at least 3 years younger than I. I tell myself that I have a 5 year rule. 5 years older, 5 years younger, but that rule often gets broken. I have no backbone when it comes to the fairer sex. Anything that I put on the list will be ignored for the right one.

Have you been to a Braves game?

I've been to a few Braves games. The last time I went was a couple of years ago. I took my nephew to a playoff game against Houston. You didn't ask, but I also took him and his sister to a Hawks game this year, and I used to go see the Falcons before Mike Vick's homeboys decided to snitch on him and ruined the team for me. You wanna come to a game with me?

Would you leave Atlanta?

Yeah, I have nothing holding me here. It will be easier to leave now, since my sister and her kids are moving back to the Seaport City. Yeah, my brother and his wife are in the area, but I rarely see them as is. So, to answer your question, yeah, I would leave Atlanta, but it would have to be for another metropolis. I'm not cut out for country life.

Do you ever go to SSU's homecoming?

I went the year after I graduated and that was it. We're talking like 10 years ago. I just don't like going to Savannah, and when I do, I tend to avoid places that have the potential for me bumping into an ex. So, homecoming is out. The mall is out. Frozen Paradise.. I know its closed, but its still out. LOL

Have you burned the electric yellow hoodie yet?

I have not and will not burn the electric yellow hoodie. You don't understand how comfortable that thing is. And besides, I have another FUBU shirt for you guys to hate on for the spring/summer. This one is a blue and black baseball type jersey that I got back in 1998. That joint has been with me through the thick and thin, and the colors are still vibrant. I'll be sure to post pictures to make you laugh at that instead of the hoodie.

La asked...

1. You get to design your own headstone. What does it say?

Rashan is still alive, check back in a few years. LOL Okay, I guess its just simple, my name, date of birth and date of death. If you must have more words, then Loving son, brother and uncle, but I don't like to think about death, since I'm currently a filthy heathen.

2. You're married. You have problems conceiving. Do you let another man (non-sexually) father your child?

Wow, good question. Since we are talking sperm donor and not doing my wiz... I'd say go for it, but only if all other avenues have been exhausted. I'd probably want to adopt before going this route, but I can understand if my wife would want to have a kid with similar DNA.

3. Name 1 moment that's changed your life. Explain why.

Leaving my last job involuntarily. I don't wanna use the F word, but that's what happened after 6 years. And the circumstances surrounding it were so messed up, that it took me some time to recover financially, my confidence, my good spirits. I really went through a rough patch. I'm not gonna say that I'm happy that I got that pink slip, but I'm happy that I was able to make it through it without completely losing my brain. I'm back in a good place again. You really learn to appreciate what you have when it's taken (or in this case thrown) away. No, I'm not gonna tell you what I did to get fired. I still have some of the old co workers reading from time to time, so I don't want to get them involved. If you just must know, send me an email and I'll think about telling you.

4. We always here about the RJ "charm" and how no one can resist and yadda yadda. So who's the one that got away?

I don't know where you hear about the charm from. I mean, I am pretty damn charming, but I don't brag on it. If I was so charming, I probably wouldn't be celibate for as long as I have been. Yes, I've had opportunities that I passed up, but anyone with half a brain would have avoided those situations. (for example, the work stalker.) But that wasn't your question, you asked about the one that got away. Well, since I already told you about my stalking situation, I'll pull out another of those stories from the archives of my mind. There are so many. Again, I'm charming, but not always. Matter of fact, can I get away with making this a Flashback Friday post? It'll give me more time and space to answer this question. BTW, that may have sounded like a question, but it was really me telling you what I am going to do.

5. Let's say you meet a blogger. You guys talk offline, REALLY hit it off. She's dope, every thing you listed on your list. After a few months you decide to meet in person. You roll up...She's a Barbie. What do you do?

Obviously, you didn't read the old blog (and no those posts aren't still up.) Been there, done that. Refuse to talk about it. That was the one thing that I said I wouldn't answer. I know that just intrigues you more, and I'm sorry for that, but I made a decision not to blog about that quite some time ago, and I'm sticking to it. The few people that know the ENTIRE story, not just the half way correct version posted on Nikki's blog would probably agree with my decision to hold this story in. Sorry again.

Magnolia Peach asked...

1. You're in the bathroom and have ran out of tissue completely, what do you do?

Take a shower. Then disinfect the bathtub. LOL

2. If you could say one thing to one person that you never got to say, who and what would it be?

To Senita, Andria, Terri, LaTarsha, Charita, et al... I'm sorry I disappeared on you. In retrospect I should not have devalued our friendship for my relationship. When I moved to Atlanta, I should have made a better effort to keep in touch. Hell, before I moved I should have kept in touch better. I regret that I took the easy way out and cut you guys off instead of standing firm in our friendship. I hope that you all have been leading prosperous lives.

3. Did I see you on Ponce for Cinco De Mayo?!

I was on Ponce, but not for Cinco De Mayo. It depends what part of Ponce you talking about. I'm quite often on East Ponce, but if I'm on Ponce in the city then I'm just riding through.

4. You meet a woman, y'all start dating, next thing you know you are in love. She is everything you could have wanted and are hoped for. You decide to take her to a family reunion and are informed that she is your third cousin. Do you continue to date her?

I've stopped talking to people for far less than that. I'm gonna have to call that relationship a day.

5. "You know third and fourth relation don't count" - What movie is that from?!

I have no earthly idea, although it does sound vaguely familiar.

Canon or is it Cannon asked...

Is your life really this interesting or do you embellish? sometimes? no disrespect meant, but you be having the wildest stories I ever read.

On the contrary, my life is pretty damn boring. I don't do much, and I don't have many current experiences to write about. Howsomever... I meet the craziest, most out there, awe inspiring people. All my stories are about 98% true. I leave the 2% margin to account for false memories, intoxicated memory lapses and dialogue discrepancies. I never intentionally have made anything up on the blog, except when I was trying to trick you guys, in which case I always let you know by the end of the post. Crazy tends to follow me, and as long as it does, I'll keep writing about it.

If you were a rapper, what would be your stage name? what would you rap about?

Wow, I'ont know. I used to be called BME (Black Man Extraordinaire) then changed it to BMX (same thing, just capitalizing on the ex prefix) then I was the Lyrical Assassin. This was back in the days like 89 -90. As I got older, my rap name was my real name: Rashan Jamal. I can't write or freestyle like I used to. Son, for real I was nice and I'm not just saying that because of my ego, but because that's the way it was. I completely suck at it now. If I were a rapper, I'd be on some Talib Kweli stuff. Conscious, without being preachy. Raps about everything, from girls, to parties to politics to just straight up boasting. That's the formula I would follow.

If you were a contemporary country singer, with a splash of new wave/funk, what would be your stage name?

Bubba McExtraterrestial... I don't know. That question threw me for a loop.

low paying job (like 15,000/yr) with creative freedom or 6-figure job (like 650,000/yr) with very little room to do what you like? you can't save up from the high paying job to retire and do what you want, because you'll be blacklisted and you can't get pension until you've been in the company for 25 yrs.

I can't live off of 15K, so no matter how much creative freedom I have, rent gotta get paid. Blogger gotta eat, yo. I'm have to go with the 6 figures joint.

good music or no-strings-attached, no risk of virus sex? you can only have ONE for the rest of your life.

I know I can live without sex. I've been doing it for a minute now. I don't know that I can live without music. That being said, I'm a have to get my procreation on. Wait, can I still listen to mediocre music?

Cherry's Kid asked...

I got a question...why so many relationships in the past and no one now?

I didn't have a lot of relationships to begin with. I just had long ones. But why no one now? I could give my old standby excuse that women in the ATL don't dig me like women from other places, but the truth is that I have little or no patience in developing relationships now a days. At the first sign of discomfort, I'm out, son! This causes me to sacrifice possibilities far too often. I'm working on it. I'm trying to do better, but then we have the next reason. I made a decision not to date women that I work with, which severely limits my dating pool. I don't go out that often, and when I do, I don't apply myself like I should. I take the lazy way out of dating friends of friends instead of looking for new exciting, interesting prospects. I wish I could say that I'm working on this one too, but my self diagnosed social anxiety disorder makes that one a difficult road to travel. I don't know, I think I just have issues with opening up on a real personal level when it comes to a romantic relationship. I can tell all you anonymous bloggers every little embarrassing detail of my life, but I for some reason don;t allow for that same vulnerability in my real life. I know this sounds like excuses, and maybe they are, but as I'm known to say...it is what it is.

Okay, now I'm done. If anybody has any other questions let me know. Or send me an email: visionz74@yahoo.com. I'm out, yo!

The Questions...

I'm gonna start answering the questions today, but this is only part one. I got a gazillion more to go, but I'm still in the market for more. If you still have questions, go head and post them, and I'll answer those too.

Pserendipity asked...

1. If you had the money to buy any kind of car you wanted, what would you buy?

I'm not really a car guy, but I think I would go with the Audi R8 from that Super Bowl Commercial.

2. What's your participation in the "Green" movement?

Green? Umm I'm not on that weed anymore. I gave that up on April 24th, 1999. Oh, you are talking about some Al Gore stuff... Umm, yeah. I'm a energy waster. I take extremely long showers, I sleep with the TV on, I drive around aimlessly wasting gas. I'm the anti green; I'm red. Wait, I do recycle...every once in awhile...when I don't forget...Does reusing a plastic milk jug for water count? No? Yeah, I didn't think so....

3. On a woman: nails/toes done or hair done?

Anybody who reads my blog should know that I have a thing for hair. I always have to explain this though. I don't care if its long, short, kinky, wavy, straight, curly, permed, natural, locked, blown out...I can't think of any more adjectives right now. What I love is when it looks good, regardless of style. I think because I say I like hair, people think that I have an unrealistic expectation that it be done all the time. That's so not what I'm saying. But if we are going out, is it too much to ask that you put the same effort into your hair, as you do your outfit? If we chilling at home, or going grocery shopping, I don't care if your hair isn't done. I'm not that superficial. Also, headwraps are sexy on the right woman. Just thought I would add that to the mix.

Monie asked...

1) What would you name your son? What would you name your daughter?

My son would be Christopher Nasir We.ldo.n - You know after Biggie and Nas. I'm sure my wife would have something to say about that. As much as I love the sound of my own name (and again, doesn't it feel good in your mouth. LOL) I'm not looking to have a Rashan Jr. I want my son to have a name that people don't constantly misspell or mispronounce. I'm aware that I'm punking out on the whole ethnic name thing... and yet...

My daughter... Aaliyah Imani We.ldo.n - Yes, I'm aware that is an ethnic name. I'm nothing if not contradictory.

I'm mad good at picking out baby names. People steal my names all the time. For example, my sister stole Tarik from me for her son. My first born was supposed to be name Khalil Tarik. This was many, many barren years ago. LOL

2) You hit the lottery. What do you do with the money?

House away from everybody. Loft in Downtown Atlanta (not to be confused with midtown) 2 cars (one luxury-ish like a Jaguar, and one old school Chevy fixed up.) Whatever my moms wants, and diversify my portfolio.

3) If you could smack the shit out of one blogger, who would it be and why?

Oh, you really want me to answer this one? I would smack the shit outta (answer redacted.) He/she just gets on my effing nerves. I hate how he/she posts bullshit and gets like 50 people to comment. I'm not even being a hater. I don't mind you getting comments if your posts are on point and you actually, I don't know, write something original. But the rehashing of stuff that people already know just so they will say, "hey, I can relate" and the constant sexual pandering gets on my nerves. What makes it worse is that some bloggers that I really like and respect visit this bloggers page on a regular basis and I just don't get the appeal of him/her. It's mind boggling to me. Any guesses who I'm talking about? Monie, if you really need to know this one, I'll hit you up on the email. But isn't it more fun guessing? LOL

4) You have to cook dinner for me. What do you cook to impress me?

You really don't want me to cook for you. I'm heavy handed with the spices...either that or I don't use enough. I haven't quite mastered the just right. That being said, I think (and keep in mind that I don't know what you eat) that I would try something that is not in my normal repetoire, but I have tried before. So here goes.

Cornish Hens, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Asparagus spears. And for dessert...something fruity and light. I can't find the recipe online, but I once made this dessert with pears and whipped cream (there was other stuff too, but I can't remember) that my date enjoyed. I know nothing about wine, so I'll have to research that, but an after dinner Grand Marnier always hits the spot.

5) What is the best prank you have ever pulled on someone?

Okay, so I was dating this girl, or more accurately I was using her for food, shelter and my carnal pleasure. She liked me way more than I liked her. If you remember the story about the girl that buried chicken bones in my yard trying to put the root on me... This was her. Okay, so yeah, she used to always ask me to marry her. I would be like no, I don't like you like that. Finally, I got tired of hearing her propose so I told her that I was already married to Lisa, the college girlfriend from yesterday's story. The lie was spur of the moment, but it came out so elaborate and well thought out, that I would have believed me. The story was that Lisa and I got married on Valentines Day one year across the river in South Carolina. We kept the wedding a secret because we both wanted to finish school first and our parents didn't approve of us getting married so young. So we eloped. I wish I could remember all of the details, but the crazy girl believed every word of it. I was going to tell her that I was just making it up, but it somehow slipped my mind. LOL! Honestly, I kept the ruse up for 3 months. Occasionally, she would ask me if Lisa and I were getting a divorce, but she never again asked me to marry her. LOL!

Dejanae asked...

ur worst sexual experience

From my perspective or hers? I don't really like to do the whole detailing sexual experiences thing on my blog, so I'll take a pass on this one.

What you would do if u were caught up with a serial killer?

Well, first of all I doubt I would ever get caught up with a serial killer because they don't usually cross racial lines. Watch as many movies about them as I do, and that's one of the first things that they say. But if for some reason, I got caught up with a serial killer, I would try to pick his brain to see why he does what he does. I always wonder, do they intend to be caught? Or is it all about some childhood trauma? Oh yeah... I would probably also die. LOL. In reality, I don't know that I completely understand the question.

The phone rings, u pick it up 5 minutes later, you start crying what did it?

At this point in my life, the only thing that would get me crying is if my grandmother died. That woman is the love of my life. She took us in when we were broke and had to move outta New York. It couldn't have been easy for her to replace her empty nest with her daughter and 3 grandkids. I never heard any complaints as we took over her home with our Nintendos, Boom Boxes, exercise bikes, and so on and so on. My grandmother is just the nicest, sweetest, most caring woman I know. I could really do an entire post just talking about how much she means to me, but I'll stop now. That would really be the only thing that could melt my icebox of a heart at this point.

If Hillary wins the nomination, would you stay home from the polls in the general election?

As disingenious as I think she is, and as many political tricks as she pulls, I still would vote for her in the general election. The reason is quite simple. Hillary is far more in line with my political views than is McCain. I'm a Democrat and I'm not gonna NOT vote for her just because she plays dirty politics. If we do that, we might as well not vote for anybody. Politics, in my opinion, are inherently dirty. People do what they have to do to win. If there's a chance that something can get accomplished, then I have to get past this primary and give her my support. People always talk about character, but I'm a cynic when it comes to people's intentions. I think everybody lies, I think everybody looks out for number 1, and I think that is okay. I may not like her as a person, but it will not prevent me from voting for Hillary if the other choice is McCain. And no, I wont be doing any write in votes that lessen the chances of a Democrat getting the office. My vote is not just to make a statement, I would actually like to see results.

What site do you visit the most?

The most? http://rashansbeatsrhymesandlife.blogspot.com/ I'm always on my site, refreshing the page, checking for new comments, cyber stalking via my site meter. At home and at work. Other than my site, I would say the Yahoo home page. I check out the news and sports all the time too.

If you could change your name, what would it be?

This is a tough one. I love my name. Say it with me... Rashan Jamal... I used to go by T. Casanova on my old blog. I feel like I should re explain that one. I don't think I'm a Casanova by any means. The name was derived back in 1983 I think it was. I had seen the movie Beat Street, which features a graffiti artist by the name of Ramo. He would tag his name on walls, subways and stuff. As a burgeoning hip hop head, I thought that was the freshest thing out there. I decided that I wanted to become a graffitti artist too. So I made up a b boy name: It was Terrance Casanova. It had nothing to do with the legendary lover, it was just some ish that I thought sounded dope. I never did get around to spray painting anything. I was too scared, but I kept that pseudonym for the last 25 years. Somehow down the line, T. Casanova became more than a fake name, it became my alter ego. T. Casanova was my outgoing side, the one that actually talks to people and forces me to get out the house. When I started blogging, I just knew that I didn't want to use my real name, so I went to the old stand by. I was T. Casanova. Later shortened to T. Cas. My yahoo email probably still says Terrance Casanova, so if you see an email from him, he is I and I am him.

I see you Ladynay and I'm gonna answer your many, many questions, but I'll do that tomorrow

Nexgrl asked:

Would you ever consider moving back to NYC, now that you are all grown up?

Let me first clarify that I never lived in NYC. I lived in Spring Valley, New York. I don't want Diva calling me out about not really being from NY. It wasn't quite the city, but it still counts as New York, no matter what Diva says. By the way, how's Jersey? LOL. As far as living in the Big Apple, I would want to do it for only a limited time. I wouldn't want to raise kids there, but I'd could see myself having one last hurrah in the Rotten Apple before I get too old. The only thing is I would want the television version of New York. You know, the walks in Central Park and the city inspiring me to write and the brownstones and all of the fake stuff that doesn't involve paying hellacious rent for a small ass crib. I think what I'm trying to say is that I'm not paid enough to live in New York and I don't like to struggle, so I'll probably never do it.

Okay, now I am finally sleepy, so I'll get back to the answers tomorrow. Remember if you got more questions, just let me know. One!

Out The Blue

*10 Minute Voice Post Below* (it doesn't feel like 10 minutes. LOL)

You remember PHD? If not, then check the links on the sidebar. Never mind, I'll just recap. Last summer and fall, we were dating, nothing serious at all, but on a fairly regular basis. I kept telling y'all that it was not a relationship, but some people, *ahem Diva ahem* got way too excited about it. Anyway, we kinda lost touch for a minute sometime after the Stevie W.onder concert. The calls came more infrequently, and the dates just totally dried up. After a while, I got tired of hearing that she was catching up on school work, even though I believed her. I'm not good at the whole chasing someone who doesn't want to be caught thing, so I stopped trying. I just told her to get at me when she had time. Fast forward to yesterday, guess who calls me all out the blue. That's right, PHD. She called to invite me to go see the Al.vin A.iley Da.nce Thea.ter joint when it comes to Atlanta. It was weird to me. The last time I talked to her was on my birthday in November, although we did have a few text message conversations around Christmas.

I called her back on break at work, and we did a little catching up. She's about to start her internship (she's obviously getting her PHD which you can tell from her blog name) and finds out Monday where she will be going. She did a bunch of interviews over the last few months and probably will be moving to Texas. She asked about my sister, whom she briefly met, told me about her family and stuff. It was a cool, normal conversation. From what I gathered, I guess she is not as swamped with school right now and wanted to reconnect. Like I said, she wanted to take me to this joint to make up for missing my birthday. We'll see what happens. I like culture, but hate dancing so I'm not sure. LOL.

I didn't really think too much about it, except for my initial reaction of "how you gonna call me 3 months later?" But then I was chatting with Opinionated Diva on the work IM and she made me overanalyze the situation. I was perfectly content to just think that PHD really was busy with school, but now I'm not too sure. I was perfectly content to just think that she didn't like me anymore, but now after this call I don't know what's up. I was perfectly content not worrying about it, but now I am curious to know. The mature thing would probably be to just ask PHD about it, but when have I ever done the mature thing? LOL. I'd rather ask a bunch of anonymous people that read my blog what they think? How 'bout it? Isn't it strange to call someone out the blue and act like no time has passed? Can it be just as simple as being busy with school... for three months? Diva, go ahead and post your conspiracy theories too, even though I already read them. LOL!

Questions I Asked Myself

On my old blog, I used to ask myself a question before each post, but I haven't done that over here, so I got a bunch of questions built up. Time to let them out. Here are my extra random questions I asked myself over the last couple of weeks.

Why are so many black women dying their hair orange recently and why is it strangely attractive in a Ronald McDonald meets Gabrielle Union kinda way?

Have I ever seen a white person driving an Escalade? Do they really just make those for us?

How come its so funny to me when people I think are racist turn out to be racist? Yeah, I'm talking about Don Imus. I always thought there was something off about him.

Speaking of racism, I've been trying to write a piece called "Fun With Racism" but why can't I finish it?

Why did I miss the Nas concert last night, but I'm gonna catch De La Soul next Thursday?

How come every time I listen to the radio, I realize that Hip Hop is Dead?

Why have I been listening to the classic R&B station all the time, and realize that I should have been born a decade earlier?

Why do I cringe every time I hear someone say grown and sexy? We seriously need to ban that phrase.

Why do people who betray your trust not understand why you don't trust easily?

Why don't people believe me when I say I have social anxiety disorder? Perfect example, last night I didn't go to the grocery store because there were too many people there, so I rode 10 minutes out of my way to go to a less crowded store.

If I was a smart ass from the moment you met me, why would you expect me to be any different later?

Is she seriously still sending me MySpace friends requests? How many times do I have to deny you before you get the message?

Do they have rehab for sarcasm?

Would I get fired if I punched someone? Do you think I could claim self defense?

Why is it so hard not to say the first thing that pops in my mind? I'm doing a good job hiding my true thoughts, but every now and then I just wanna say "I ** o*** *u**i** **t* *** **t** I *** ** **a***r ***k "

How come every time I think about quitting smoking, Black and Mild comes out with a new flavor of cigar? The wine joints reeled me back in.

Why was it raining inside my car last week?

Why did I go to a strip club for the first time since I started my first blog and not write about it?

Why is there a Papa Smurf, but no Mama Smurf?

Someone told me I was vain b/c I posted all those pictures of myself. Is that true?

Why is understanding is a good thing when it comes to one person, but a fault when it comes to another?

Why is someone gonna think I'm biting her post, when she so obviously bit my style a long time ago? LOL

Why is this post getting extra long?

Although my mini OCD is telling me that I should come up with a few more so I can have 25 questions, I'm gonna fight it and stop here. Everyone have a great weekend, mine has already started.
